I have many hobbies, from competitive sports to monochromatic drawings. But one of my favorite (whenever I can find the time) is creative writing.
Having the ability to create worlds, people, and everything from backstories and histories to landmarks and sentimental objects for the characters is a point
of excitement for me. I have always had a huge imagination, so getting to visualize something in my head, and then make it come to life in writing is a neat
process that I never tire of doing.
With my creative side, I can easily create worlds that I imagine in my head and hope to someday entertain people with distant lands that can only be reached through the portal of pages.
Creative writing is something that a lot of people take for granted. It isn't easy, or something that takes little thought. Often, I will sit down to begin some writing and find that if I am not writing in an action-y part of the literature it can actually be mentally tough to power through and write legitimately engaging everyday things.
Besides that, there are many factors that go into even a chapter of writing. There are subplots to build, character development to set up, and the rise and fall of problem/solution working. Depending on the writers style, one could write a problem and solution curve every single chapter, whilst continually building the story's grand curve of the book's entire problem/solution.
Currently I am working on a high-fantasy novel, on which I have already built the world, characters, and even as deep as historical events, family trees, and ecosystems. I began this work when I was thirteen and would love to be able to make an impact in the literary collection of the world.
With names like CS Lewis, JK Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, and many others of just the more recent "historical" works, this is clearly a massive undertaking, but one that I nonetheless would like to accomplish.
